Capital of the Razavi Khorosan Province, Mashhad holds a reputation as one of the holiest cities in Iran.
Start off your visit on the 18th (Mon): steep yourself in history at Imam Reza Holy Shrine, take in the spiritual surroundings of Goharshad Mosque, and then contemplate the long history of Nadir Shah Afshar's Tomb.
