Temple of the Golden Buddha (Wat Traimit), Bangkok

4.4
Witness the delicately modeled beauty of the world's largest gold seated Buddha at Temple of the Golden Buddha (Wat Traimit). Many of Asia's golden statues were once covered in plaster and stucco to disguise them from invading armies during times of conflict. The discovery of this magnificent golden Buddha was accidental: a team of people moving the object dropped it, its plaster casing cracked, and the golden figure shone out after many years in hiding. Visit the established Bangkok temple complex to admire the Buddha's clear, crisp form and learn of its fascinating origins. • Very important and beautiful temple in Bangkok. Visited by many tourists. I recommend going with time since nearby are other important places to see. Entrance fee was 20 baht per pax for tourist.
  • Be prepared for an amazing experience as you walk into the temple and your eyes fall on that golden Buddha statue. I recommend visiting the museum before getting into the temple so that you find out a bit about the history of the statue.
  • This is a very beautiful temple. The golden Buddha is very big and it's made of pure gold.
  • The temple itself is nice, as is the golden Buddha. I have to keep 1 star because they allow parking inside the grounds making it difficult to take better photos and adds to the crowd.
  • Pure gold (classic gold made) Budda image this temple is iconic around this area I recommended, gold Budda dedicate to Budda the enlighten one the truth and mindfulness
