Beijing is known for sightseeing, historic sites, trails, museums, and shopping. One of the oldest settlements in the Yangtze basin, Suzhou remains a complex, labyrinthine set of old canal districts, World Heritage gardens, and sprawling modern developments.

Hangzhou, the scenic capital of Zheijang Province, remains a popular vacation choice for tourists interested in the area's numerous cultural and natural sights.

Named after the "Yellow Mountains" with which the region has long been associated, Huangshan offers access to UNESCO-listed sites both natural and man-made.
