Nasir al-Mulk Mosque, Shiraz

4.7
With its colored glass arches and polychrome faience, Nasir al-Mulk Mosque showcases a mesmerizing blend of rainbow colors and intricate shapes. Pink and deep blue tiling give the structure its nickname, the "Pink Mosque." Built from 1876 to 1888, the mosque also features a large pond in the inner courtyard reflecting colored light passing through the stained glass. With five concave ceilings, elaborately carved pillars, and an impressive winter prayer hall, the mosque stands out as an architectural masterpiece. A small museum onsite details various donations to the mosque. Arrange to visit Nasir al-Mulk Mosque and other attractions in Shiraz using our Shiraz trip planner.

  • Nice place. Better go there in the morning so that you can enjoy the colors and lights in the prayer room. The ticket is 2000R If you're local. Sucks for you if not, as you will pay 75 times more.
  • At first, I was a bit disappointed because the space inside the mosque was not as big as I imagined through the images I saw on the internet. The only impressive thing is the stained-glass windows when the sun shines through. Depending on the direction of sunlight, light streaks will sweep through the walls of the room. So the best time to see this beautiful sight is from 7:30 am to about 9:00 am.
  • Thee Nasir-ol-Molk Mosque, also known as the Pink Mosque, is traditional mosque in Shiraz. The mosque includes extensive colored glass in its facade, and displays other traditional elements. Strongly recommend to visit this mosque.
  • Don't miss this place when coming in Shiraz, the colour of window glass spectacular stunning room with glow. can be seen only at early morning in winter
  • The famous windows are nice but it's very crowded in that room. With a little patient you get chanches to take some nice pictures.

Where to stay in Shiraz

The main bazaar district in the center of town remains the primary place to look for accommodations in Shiraz. Standard hotels tower over the public squares, and side street hostels offer particularly budget-friendly dormitory room stays. To the north of this central district, you'll find the most opulent options in town, with luxury hotels offering commanding views of traditional Persian gardens, swimming pools, and onsite fine-dining restaurants.
