Definitely a must-visit if you're into music and history. A talented female musician explained to us every instrument, its background and origins and some popular uses. Gained some new insights on how to approach writing music as well. The private jam between the lady's awesome Tombak skills and another musicians tar skills were incredible.

As an American visiting Iran, I really enjoyed the Music Museum. The guides were really nice. The museum was super clean, and there live music was the best during the visit. I would recommend this place for anyone who is into Music and is visiting Isfahan.

Visited about 2 months ago during my first visit in Iran .Absolutely classical which an Indian classical music lover will be delighted about . Also had the privilege of playing 'Tabla' with the group playing traditional Persian instruments (Thanks to the kind courtesy extended by the management ).This time too I do not want to miss it ! This type of museum carries the centuries old traditional cultural value not only of a nation but also of a region consisting of different nations, which is on the way to extinction . The best part is the live play of major instruments by a group of musicians for demonstration.People should visit without fail, a Must See place for all the visitors !

This place should be on every guide of Isfahan. It contains a fantastic collection of traditional instruments. The guides are all professional musicians and they will play a few songs for you at the end of the visit. Maybe best book a visit in advance, mine was prearranged. And you can chill in the garden afterwards with a coffee or an ice cream.

Had an amazing experience in this museum as it displays the Iranian heritage and culture with a classy touch that shows their cultural and folklore music. Had a great pleasure sitting and listening to the folk band playing on several traditional musical instruments.

Where to stay in Esfahan

Esfahan includes a smattering of accommodations that provide variety, if not depth of choice. Along the main Chahar Bagh drag and the streets that lead off it, you'll find a few fairly basic hotels, providing decent rooms in the city center, close to the main attractions and services. Hostels can be found, with dormitory rooms providing particularly good options for budget-conscious travelers who want to be right in the thick of things close to the main square and the bazaar. The most luxurious hotels in town lie further to the south, set in historic buildings overlooking the river.
