Admire the vast collection of plants at Jardin des serres d'Auteuil, a botanical garden set within a major greenhouse complex. The greenhouses were constructed from 1895-1898, and today they produce approximately 100,000 plants per year for the interiors of municipal buildings. Admire the exhibits of palm trees, succulents, and tropical plants. The garden also features a collection of rare plants and an aviary. Green, relaxing, pleasant... in Paris. I was amazed by the diversity of plants and by the calm that reigns in this place. Also suitable for a family walk solo. Best is to go when it's nice to enjoy the adjacent Park.

The place like greenhouses and plants, all is a delight. Probably even more beautiful for the exteriors in the spring. For inside the number of variety of plants is important. The audio guide is practically but is only reading the signs at the entrance of each greenhouse.

A must see, this wonderful place might disappear to enlarge the stadium Roland Withers!

It's a nice park with multiple areas for children and adults alike as well as huge greenhouses for exotic plants

Peaceful location with tropical greenhouses open all year round.

We took my grandchildren, 3 and 1.5, along in their pushchair. After a walk in the lovely Botanical Gardens with the attraction of a Poets' Corner, and a play in the playground, we warmed up in the beautiful, antique greenhouses. These were full of lush, tropical plants, there was a pond full of gold fish and an aviary, which fascinated the children. There were very few other visitors and these were mostly young people enjoying the opportunities to photograph themselves.

Much of this garden is being renovated currently, but it's still a lovely place for a quiet stroll outside of Paris!

Where to stay in Paris

Each of the city’s 20 arrondissements, or districts, has a personality all its own. If you prefer high-end accommodations and to be in the middle of the action, look for lodging in the 1st through the 4th arrondissements. For more affordable lodging and access to major metro lines, try the 12th. The Oberkampf area of the 11th arrondissement has an edgier, more hip vibe. For easy access to tourist sites,  the 16th is within a stone’s throw of the Arc de Triomph and the Eiffel Tower, and the 17th is within walking distance to the Champs-Elysées. Avoid the 18th, 19th, and 20th, because these can be dangerous, especially if you’re not familiar with the city.
